European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Publishing firm Mediapubli has applied for a labour force adjustment plan affecting 134 staff at its national newspaper Público. This represents 84% of its workforce.
The company filed the application on the 28 February, which will come into force in the following days.
Reportedly, the newspaper, which reached 87,000 readers, was unable to find investors to improve its financial situation and is now forced to cut jobs. Público was launched in 2007.
