European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Betsson, an online gaming and gambling company and a subsidiary of BML Group Ltd., announced that it will hire 350 new employees throughout the coming year.
BML Group, which originated in Sweden, specialises in online gambling and currently employs 300 workers. BML Group transferred to Malta in June 2006.
The online gaming sector in Malta is estimated to sustain 7,000 jobs, 4,000 direct jobs amongst its 280 online gaming companies and 3,000 indirect jobs, which provide support services to this sector. In addition to the 280 gaming companies already based in Malta, there are currently further 60 applications being processed from companies wishing to set up in Malta.
