European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Candy Group, an Italian group of companies, specialized in the domestic appliances sector, is to cut 120 jobs (out of 450) in its plant located at Brugherio, in the province of Milan. According to the company, the job cuts are blamed on the economic crisis that has hit hard the sector and made difficult the relocation of around 50 workers from the Bessel-Candy plant of Santa Maria Hoè to the Brugherio plant (for additional information see here). The trade unions have requested to meet the management to discuss adequate measures for the redundant workers.
