European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Tobacco manufacturer Altadis is to apply for a redundancy procedure affecting 114 employees. This measure will affect marketing, sales, central services and production departments. The company has also announced the closure of its plant in Cadiz by the end of December 2013 and the loss of all 76 jobs. Reportedly the 76 job losses in Cadiz will be carried out through pre-retirement. Both measures are blamed on drop in sales of cigarettes in the last four years.
