On 23 July, the group Hamelin has announced to its European Works Council the closure of five plants. 340 job cuts will follow the plants closure. The affected sites are located in France (244 job cuts, see Hamelin 2013), UK and Italy. About 100 jobs will be cut in the Italian and British plants.
Hamelin group employs 3,000 employees worldwide. It is the owner of the brands Elba, Oxford and Canson. The group is a leading supplier to the office, school and fine art markets (it products notebooks, drawing paper, diaries, binders, files, folders, dividers).
