On 4 September 2013, the online portal Presse.com reported on the cut of 520 jobs at Alpine Deutschland. This measure was due to company bankruptcy.
According to the report, the insolvency administrator secured a buyer for foreign business and the power plant construction division. Therefore, 730 employees can keep their jobs. Nonetheless, 520 jobs are lost in divisions that could not be sold. Affected employees are offered a position in a transfer agency that provides them with continuous training offers and placement services. Alpine Deutschland employed 1,250 employees in total.
