European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
On 31 October 2013, automotive supplier Heuliez closed its doors and dismissed 270 employees in Cerizay (Deux-Sèvres). This follows a decision of Niort commercial court on the previous day.
15 staff were taken over by a new company created by the regional public authorities. This is to maintain the site and production tools, keeping the company attractive for potential buyer Cosmos XXI. In case of a take-over, 200 to 250 jobs in Cerizay could be reestablished.
Dismissed workers are to receive a compensation of EUR 10,000.
In 2009, the then troubled company had merged with Bernard Krief Consulting, leading to the dismissal of 474 staff. Employment in Cerizay peaked at 3,200 in 2005.
