Description
IT developer and consultant KMD is to make 275 staff redundant. Cuts are reported to occur across all units.
According to the management, this is due to falling prices and increasing competitiveness in the software business.
Negotiations started with worker representatives and will go on in the following weeks. Unions aim to reduce forced redundancies e.g. by a voluntary departure plan.
KMD is the largest IT company based in Denmark. It operates branches in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense and Aalborg, employing more than 3,000 staff in the country. Earlier in 2013, KMD had announced the dismissal of 100 workers.
Updated, 05-08-2014: As announced the final number of job cuts is 244.
