Description
Danish engineering group FLSmidth announced its plans to reduce its global workforce by 1,100 positions in an attempt to cut costs. The restructuring will also result in the closure of 20 of the company’s sites across the world.
As announced, the restructuring programme will be carried out over a period of 18 months and will result in a 7 pc reduction in the company’s workforce, as well as a 10 pc reduction in company sites.
In Denmark, the company is planning to reduce its workforce by 270 staff. More detailed information on where the remainder of the job cuts will take place has yet to be published.
