Description
The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) is to cut up to 1,700 jobs in in France by the end of 2016.
As announced, the plan will affect the company sites at Montmorency (Paris), Suresnes, Elancourt and Les Mureaux.
According to the sources, the management aims at implementing the cuts mainly through voluntary measures and internal redeployment. In France, about 300 positions could however be cut directly.
Negotiations with trade unions are to last until mid-2014.

According to the management, four French sites are affected by the restructuring: 411 positions will be cut in Elancourt (Cassidian), 396 in Toulouse (Astrium), 309 in Mureaux (Astrium) and 213 in Saint-Médard (Astrium). Other sites will be affected as the offices in Paris. As previously announced, the total job cuts will affect 1,700 positions.
Updated, 06-05-2014: As reported the restructuring plan was revised and the final number of the job cuts is 605.
