European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Aircraft manufacturer Airbus intends to hire an additional 1,500 staff in France by the end of 2014. The company is looking for fitters, operators and technicians.
The positions are to be filled by workers with diverse skill backgrounds. Furthermore, 500 of the 1,500 positions are reserved for workers that are to be relocated from the declining defense and space section.
The measure is due to an increased production of the A350 airplane and the construction of its new A320neo airplane.
Airbus currently employs about 61,000 staff globally, of which 25,000 in France. During the past 5 years, the company has recruited about 16,500 additional staff. See announced job expansions in France during 2012: Airbus2012-1, Airbus2012-2.
