Description
On 6 August 2014, German manufacturer of special viscous fibres Kelheim Fibres announced its plan to cut 100 jobs in the fourth quarter of the year. Both permanent and temporary employed workers will be affected. The company currently employs 620 people in total.
The management named declining demand and the loss of a big client as main reasons for the restructuring measure. The works council criticises that there are already very few employees in the company. Company representatives assured to reduce jobs in a socially acceptable manner. Details will be negotiated between management and works council during the following weeks.
