Description
French owned car manufacturer Peugeot Citroen is reported to be cutting 150 jobs across two sites in the West Midlands. Currently 750 people are employed at the Pinley House and Tile Hill sites; the cuts amount to 20% of the current workforce. The Unite union has confirmed that it has been informed that a formal consultation period will now start. The company has said that it hopes to achieve the cuts through voluntary redundancies. The company has been a significant employer in the region for some time, though this has diminished since the closure of the Ryton Peugeot plant in 2006.
