Liechtenstein company Oerlikon Balzers Coating, which specializes in surface coating of engineering products using plasma, will create over 100 new jobs in the industrial complex at Velka Ida, nearby Kosice. The positions to be filled are for qualified workers and engineers.
The opening ceremony of the new hall is planned in September 2015. According to the Oerlikon Balzers CEO, Bernd Fisher, the Company considered several localities but Velka Ida was the best solution for the company from several aspectssuch as proximity and availability of qualified work force. The company will continue with the investment in Velka Ida and plans a second stage of the project in 2017-2018. By 2018 it plans to provide surface coating for 25 million engine parts annually for the European market.
