European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Mining company, Talvivaara, is to hire 120 new employees in Sotkamo in eastern Finland. In Finland, quarrying in the Talvivaara mine is planned to start again at the beginning of September 2015. The bankrupt estate will hire 120 new employees, and they will start their work in phases. The new positions include experts, management staff and mine workers. Over 400 applications were received. The current number of personnel is 400.
The quarrying is related to the national aim to continue mining operations in a way which is both profitable and environmentally sustainable.
The ERM has reported on previous restructuring cases at Talvivaara, most recently in 2013.
