European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Norisol, a company mainly delivering maintainance services to the petroleum industry, has announced that 120 employees will be dismissed as a result of a difficult project situation. The company's Norwegian headquarters are located at Sola in Rogaland and in Porsgrunn in Telemark, but many employees also work offshore. The company works with isolation, scaffolding and surfaces treatments. When ongoing projects are finished in November/December 2015 or in January 2016, Norisol will no longer be able to provide work for 120 of its employees. The dismissals will be distributed to affected employees by the end of October. Some will be given the opportunity to work beyond the period of dismissal, so that they can keep working until the projects are finished. The management is in close dialogue with union representatives concerning the restructuring process. At the time of the announcement, it was yet to be decided which employees would be affected, but the restructuring will mainly affect mobile project personnel, according to the company.
