Description
V&D, the Dutch department store chain, has announced they will reduce employment by 400 persons. The announcement comes after months of negotiations with trade unions over a proposed pay cut. An agreement was finally reached: the pay cut will not occur, but in order to reduce labour costs the company must reduce their workforce. The plan will be presented to the Works Council by the end of the summer.
