The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Dutch wholesale chain Makro Cash&Carry has announced that it will implement a collective dismissal programme affecting 681 employees at units across Poland. It will include 232 jobs at Makro Punkt units which are being closed down and at the store in Szczawno-Zdrój. The remaining 449 jobs are to be cut at Makro stores as part of the reorganisation process. The programme will be implemented between 14 June and 31 August 2016, and the conditions of the programme were negotiated with the local trade union.
Makro Cash&Carry has been operating in Poland since 1994; the chain has 34 wholesale stores across the country.
