European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Frozen food supermarket Iceland has created 900 new positions across its UK stores and warehouses. The company, which retains an internal labour market, has specifically said that previous retail experience is not essential. Roles are available at all levels within the company including store management positions. The company has a record of being a good employer and has received national recognition for this. Staff are provided with a range of benefits including discount and childcare vouchers. Iceland is actively recruiting for these new positions now, though it is not known when the jobs will start, or when the 900 vacancies will be filled.
