European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Fast food giant McDonald's has announced plans to create 5,000 more positions in the UK. The move will see the opening of 25 new restaurants. Existing sites will also be extending their opening hours and new staff will be required to meet this demand. The decision to create new jobs is being seen as an indicator of confidence in the UK economy following the vote to leave the EU. All jobs will be permanent and include a mix of full-time and part-time positions. The jobs are expected to be filled by the end of 2017, which will bring the UK workforce of McDonald's up to 115,000.
