European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Polish premium supermarket chain Alma Market has announced that it will cut 425 jobs via collective dismissal programme. This is the third wave of collective dismissal within the chain since September 2016; as a result of two dismissal programmes 1,679 jobs were cut in fall 2016. Now, the restructuring programme, approved by the court, is also associated with the company’s plans to shut down unprofitable shops across Poland and reduce the employment in the head office.
Alma Market was founded in 1995; currently, the company has 10 stores and employs about 1,396 workers across the country.
