European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Greggs bakers is reported to be cutting jobs across a number of its UK manufacturing sites. The company which closed three sites in 2016 is reported to be cutting jobs at Treforest, Cambuslang and Birmingham. At Treforest, in South Wales, 90 jobs are set to be cut as the company is due to cease confectionery manufacture at the site; this accounts for about one-third of the workforce at the facility. In Cambuslang, in South Lanarkshire, details about the number of jobs affected vary, but reports place the number of jobs at risk as between 50 and 100. In Birmingham, a reported 140 jobs will be lost if manufacturing is to be ended at that site. Consultations over the job losses are underway and further details are expected to be reported.
