Allianz UK insurance brokers has announced that 150 jobs are at risk of redundancy and that it has begun statutory consultation proceedings with the Unite trade union. It is planning to consolidate accidental claims work at its site in Birmingham; work on claims will no longer be undertaken at the Bristol office. Commercial property claims will be handled in Milton Keynes, rather than in Birmingham. As yet the timeframe for the job losses is unknown, though this will be determined through the consultation process.
