European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Low cost airline operator EasyJet has announced plans to create 1,200 new jobs. The positions will be both permanent and fixed-term positions for cabin crew and follow the announcement earlier in 2017 that the airline was creating 450 more jobs for pilots. The move will increase the total number of cabin crew jobs to just over eight thousand. The expansion comes after EasyJet has applied for a new air operator's certificate, based in Austria, that will allow it to continue operating in the EU once the UK has withdrawn from the Union. There is no information available about when the new roles are expected to be filled, though recruitment for the new positions was opened at the same time as the company announced the new jobs.
