European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The German hyper market retail chain Kaufland will open a new store in Bratislava's shopping mall Avion by autumn 2017, thereby creating 150 new jobs. According to the spokesperson of Kaufland Slovenska republika, the decision to open a store in this part of Bratislava was part of the company's overall aim of being closer to its customers. Kaufland will open its doors in the 4,000 m2 space that was previously occupied by the hyper market Hypernova. To improve customers' shopping experience, the new store will provide 12 self-service check-outs.
As of September 2017, Kaufland Slovenska republika is among the largest employers in Slovakia with about 6,000 employees.
