European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Airfoils Advanced Solutions, a joint venture created between Safran Aircraft Engines and AFI KLM E&M, has announced the recruitment of 135 workers over the next 4 years at its new aircraft engine component repair facility in Sars-et-Rosières (Nord), near Valenciennes.
The activity is currently based in Asia and it will be relocated to nothern France near the two main hubs of airlines companies Air France (Roissy-Charles-De--Gaulle) and KLM (Amsterdam). The new company's plant will be completed in early 2018, with operations due to kick off late 2018. By the time the Airfoils Advanced Solutions plant reaches cruise speed in 2020, it will have from 200 to 250 employees. The implementation of the new plant is supported by local authorities that participated in up to 10% of the total investment (Haut-de-France region provided a subsidy of €673,000).
Airfoils Advanced Solutions will repair high-pressure compressor blades and variable stator vanes, focusing on the CFM International CFM56 engines powering the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737, GE's GE90 engines powering the Boeing 777, and the Engine Alliance GP7200 for the Airbus A380 super-jumbo.
