Description
Pentland Brands, the UK-based sportswear and outdoors fashion business is making up to 100 employees redundant. Offices in Stockport and Wakefield in the North of England are to be closed and the functions will be moved to other Pentland offices in England in early 2018.
The management has already started the compulsory redundancy consultation process with the employees who are affected by the change. The company is offering ‘redundancy packages’ and recruitment advice to those who will lose their job.
According to the management, the aim of the reorganisation is to consolidate Pentland’s offices in the UK. Andy Long, the chief executive said that after the restructuring the company will be better able to meet the needs of retailers and partners by offering a single contact point at the company. The management also expects that the new structure will make it easier to integrate future acquisitions into the business. Pentland Brands employs 1,700 staff across its global operations and owns well-known brands such as Speedo, Ellesse and Berghaus.
