Japanese battery manufacturer GS Yuasa is to open a new production plant in Miskolc, northeastern Hungary. The construction of the assembly facility will take nine months, production is planned to start in September 2018. Projected to operate 24/7, the plant will create about 400 new jobs. GS Yuasa plans to supply all of its European customers with rechargeable automotive batteries from Miskolc. The company has a total of 9 production facilities worldwide, five of those produce Li-ion, and four of them produce lead batteries.
