European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Petroleum services company Aker Solutions is set to hire about 100 engineers in the Stavanger area. Aker Soultions has recently secured contracts for several large projects (including one for Maersk Drilling launched last month) which have created a new demand for engineers. Aker Solutions was hit hard by the fall in crude oil prices and cut its staff in Norway from almost 11,000 in 2012 to 5,800 in 2016 (see previous cases, Aker Solutions 2014 NO, 2015(1) NO and 2015(2) NO,2017 NO). The market situation is still described as difficult, but the project activity level is now rising, partly in response to the oil price recovery.
