European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Barclays has announced that it will be cutting jobs in Cardiff. It is understood that 203 jobs will be loss at the operation centre. Of the operation roles, 171 jobs will be relocated to Northampton and 13 will be moved to India. Three technology roles will move to Northampton, five will move to India and 11 will be cut. There will still be 205 jobs based at the site in Cardiff. Local politicians and union representatives have reacted angrily to the news that these jobs will be moved. The timeframe for the changes has not been reported.
