European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Fogarty's, a manufacturer of bedding based in Lincolnshire, has announced that it cannot continue to trade. The company has made 185 immediate redundancies with the future for the remaining 25 staff uncertain. The company which was set up in Boston nearly 200 years ago was not able to cope with the loss of a major customer in addition to the overall poor performance of the retail sector. Efforts had been made to secure external investment, though these appear to have been unsuccessful.
