European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Casinò de la Vallée, the company which manages Saint-Vincent's Casinò, sent 168 dismissal letters to start the procedure for the collective dismissal of 168 employees. The company's CEO also announced that 107 fixed term contracts will not be renewed.
Casinò de la Vallée has been in a crisis situation for several years and the restructuring plan aims at improving its economic stance and avoid bankruptcy.
Workers and their trade unions decided not to go on strike in order not to impair the company's revenues, but to organise a sit-in in front of the building of the regional administration.
