Taking into account replacement of workers going into retirement, the net effect can be estimated at around 400 new job positions. The company's CEO announced the important process of generational change specifying that new hirings will take place in all the operational and strategic sectors of the company.
About 2,000 people will be selected for the roles of train drivers and station masters, over 1,000 in train and railway maintenance, and in passengers' assistance and security. Around 600 workers will be hired by Mercitalia, the Group's company that deals with the transport of goods by rail, while Busitalia, the company that deals with local public transport by road, is looking for 250 new drivers.
