European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Furniture manufacturer Godfrey Syrett has collapsed into administration which has resulted in the loss of 193 jobs. The business which manufactured furniture for commercial and public sector clients operated across three sites in the north east of England in North Tyneside and County Durham and employed 204 staff. The remaining 11 staff will stay on for the time being to assist with the wind up of the business, though the time scale for the closure has not been reported. According to reports the company's phone lines and website are no longer working and its warehouse appears to be closed.
