Description
Food products supplier Macrae Edinburgh has announced plans to cut 50 jobs. The business, which is part of the Young's Seafood group and employs 310 people at the site in Livingston, is making the cuts as new technology has reduced the need for labour. As part of the restructure, the business will move from operating two shifts to one. The proposals will be subject to the statutory consultation process, with the changes expected to occur within the next few months. A spokesperson for the business commented that the company was committed to the future of the fish processing plant and that the restructure would ensure its long term future.
