Description
The Swedish Forest Agency has announced plans cut 124 jobs. The dismissals will affect between 5 and 11 full time jobs at offices in all counties apart from the Västernorrland County. The reasons behind the cuts are a lower budget for 2019 and the Swedish Government‘s decisions to terminate certain employment measures and a programme on a national inventory of key biotopes. The agency stated that it will work intensively to keep the number of redundancies as low as possible and to provide support to affected employees. As of February 2019, the Forestry Agency has close to 800 permanent employees.
