European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Home appliance manufacturing company BSH Sprzęt Gospodarstwa Domowego opened its research and development centre in Łódź, which is expected to result in the creation of 200 new jobs for engineers and designers. The centre was established with the aim of developing technologies for washing machines and dryers manufactured by the company. Innovative solutions for these two product groups will be developed, tested and then prepared for implementation. Ultimately, the centre is expected to operate ten laboratory types and over 1,500 test benches.
Operational in Poland since 1994, the company now operates six factories: washing machines, dishwashers and dryers are produced in the three factories in Łódź, ovens and refrigerators in two plants in Wrocław and small household appliances in the one in Rogoźnica.
