European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Telecommunications operator Orange Polska initiated negotiations with the local trade unions on a voluntary redundancy programme, planned for 2020 and 2021. The company plans to reduce its employment level by up to 2,000 job positions across the country. The negotiations are expected to result in a new social contract that will determine the conditions of the programme, including the final number of employees affected and wage hikes.
As of September 2019, the company has a workforce of 12,500 employees in Poland. In 2018 and 2019, the company implemented another voluntary redundancy programme, which led to the dismissal of 2,680 employees.

Orange Polska has announced that it will cut 920 jobs across Poland throughout a collective dismissal programme in 2021. The company has already signed a final agreement with the local trade unions which regulates the redundancies programme as well as wage hikes. The programme will affect less positions that it was assumed in mid-2020; according to the initial agreement, about 200 jobs were expected to be cut in 2020, and another 850 in 2021. Additionally, all reductions are postponed to 2021.
