Description
Lietuvos pastas, a national provider of postal services in Lithuania, intends to dismiss around 120 employees in different Lithuanian regions. As of December 2019, the company started offering a new service called “mobile postman” for rural residents. Rural residents will be able to call a mobile postman to their homes free of charge if they want to send an ordinary or registered mail, order subscriptions, deliver money transfers, pay taxes, and so on. The employees who did not pass the selection criteria for the position of a mobile postman (for example, did not have a driving license) were handed out dismissal notices.
Currently Lietuvos pastas employs 4,858 employees in Lithuania.
