European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The US online retailer Amazon announced that it will create over 1,000 positions at its new distribution centre in Gliwice, Poland. The unit will be operational in April 2020, although the official opening is scheduled for May 2020. The recruitment process has already started; currently, the company is looking for warehouse staff, managers, engineers, technicians and HR specialists. The centre, with an area of 210,000 square meters, will be Amazon’s eighth investment in Poland.
Amazon, the world’s largest e-commerce company, currently has over 40 logistics centres in 8 countries and employs around 798,000 employees worldwide. Amazon has been operating in Poland since 2014 and employs over 16,000 people in seven distribution centres across the country.
